Hamworthy

The western shore: a harbour beach with shallow water, a park, the ferry port and the Twin Sails Bridge back into town.

Hamworthy is the other side of the water from the Quay, and it is where Poole families take small children.

The park and beach

Hamworthy Park faces into the harbour, so the water is shallow and calm rather than open sea. There is grass, a playground, a paddling area and beach huts behind the sand. See family fun.

The bridges

The Twin Sails Bridge and the older lifting bridge both cross the channel into the town centre and Poole Quay.

The port

Poole's cross-Channel ferry terminal is here, with services to the Channel Islands and France. See Jersey, Guernsey and France.

Walking and cycling

The harbour shoreline path runs from here round towards Baiter and the town. Flat the whole way. See walking and trails.
